4. For the Historian, A book, as well!
Author David Nelson Wren chronicles the life and times of Ardrossan, the last great estate on the Philadelphia Main Line and the extraordinary family who lived there. Inspirations for the play and movie, The Philadelphia Story, the Montgomery family commissioned the grand house designed by Horace Trumbauer. The book contains 400 historic and contemporary images of the family and their home. Barbara was very pleased to contribute to this book, and recommends it to everyone! Buy the book here
5. For the organized or not so organized – A new day planner
Everyone needs a method for keeping themselves organized and prepared. Help your gift recipient start the New Year with a clean slate and beautiful new planner or journal. This adorable one is from Moleskine, but we also like this one from the Philadelphia Museum of Art website, and Barbara uses this one from Paragrafdiary everyday.
6. For the person who has everything – A museum membership
Coming up with a gift idea for the person who has everything is really challenging! We love to give experiential gifts like a membership to a local cultural institution, art museum, zoo, or history museums. My Philadelphia favorites are The Franklin Institute, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Barnes Foundation, and of course, The Philadelphia Zoo!
