American Splendor: The Residential Architecture of Horace Trumbauer
A serene penthouse perched high above the city is the setting for a dazzling collection of Classical antiquities, 18th century antique furniture, and 19th century Russian porcelain. Built within a high-rise condominium, the unique cupola captures light through its elegant windows and imbues the apartment with warm sunlight. Venetian plaster walls, terrazzo floors, inlaid oak parquet, specimen marble mantels, Aubusson rugs, and silk damask textiles combine to form a shimmering envelope in which to showcase the collection.
