American Splendor: The Residential Architecture of Horace Trumbauer
Total demolition was the only hope for this space devoid of any remaining architectural details. Replacing small, dark rooms and redundant hallways was the challenge for this unique apartment, creating instead a light-filled, inspiring, open space where the rhythmic interplay of scale and height created great visual excitement. From the placement of each individual plaster molding to the selection of a substantial collection of art and antiques, this project demanded an exceptional level of detail.
