Horace Trumbauer designed this grand meeting space in 1910 but when construction began, much of the original detail was left unbuilt including the elaborate coffered ceiling, the wood paneled walls and the perimeter chandeliers. With this extensive renovation, the ceiling has now been created carefully following the original drawings and incorporates sophisticated lighting, HVAC and acoustical systems. A hand painted mural surrounds the 320 foot perimeter atop new faux bois walls. Elegant upholstered panels highlight historic portraits and bronze sconces. New crystal chandeliers were designed to complement the magnificent 19th century gasolier which was fully restored.
