Barbara was formally educated in the classics, history and art; a rich background that has enhanced her enduring passion for design. With an influential voice in today’s dynamic design community, she has built a national reputation for expertise in the restoration of significant historic structures of the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. She is a sought-after lecturer on classical design, equally respected for her scholarly mastery and boundless enthusiasm for the field. Barbara graduated cum laude from the University of Chicago with a degree in Ancient History and Religion. Rigorous study of classical archaeology and antiquities paved the way for future exploration of the history of decorative arts and architecture. A longtime professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), she is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and has earned the Certificate of Classical Architecture from the ICAA. She has extensively pursued further studies in the history of architecture and the decorative arts at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, The Attingham Summer School, University of Pennsylvania, The University of the Arts, The Bard Graduate Center, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Winterthur Museum, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The National Gallery, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.
Her work has been published in such prestigious magazines as Architectural Digest and Period Homes. She has written the foreword to the new edition of Michael Kathrens’ book on the luminary Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer. Barbara contributed to David Wren’s definitive history of the fabled Philadelphia estate in his book Ardrossan, and wrote the introduction for a prestigious private collection recently highlighted at Christie’s New York.
Barbara has an ongoing commitment to enriching the education of future design professionals. She serves frequently as a guest critic at Moore College of Art & Design, the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Jefferson University and Drexel University. She has appeared on dozens of national television programs and has been a featured designer in multiple local and national publications. Her numerous awards include twenty-six ASID Design Excellence Awards as well as their “Designer of Distinction Award”, fifteen IDA Design Awards and four ICAA Trumbauer Awards for interior design. Barbara received the AIA Award for Historic Preservation, The Preservation Alliance’s Preservation Achievement Award, CCRA’s Historic Preservation Award, the Award for Residential Design from Preservation Pennsylvania, and was recognized for interior design at the Palladio Awards.
She is a national board member of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) and was the long-time President of the College of Chapters representing all Chapters nationwide. She serves on the board of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia and is active in many advocacy initiatives. Barbara holds leadership roles at The Philadelphia Museum of Art on curatorial, architectural, and development committees, is a contributing member of The Philadelphia Antique Show, The Franklin Institute, and The Union League of Philadelphia. She holds advisory positions with DesignPhiladelphia and The Athenaeum of Philadelphia and was inducted into the Leaders of Design Council. Barbara has served on the juries for many ICAA regional chapter awards including: the Philip Trammell Shutze Awards for the Southeast, the Bulfinch Awards for New England, the Julia Morgan Awards for Northern California, the Addison Mizner Awards for Florida and the Caribbean, the Acanthus Awards for Midwest-Chicago, the John Staub Awards for Texas, and ICAA’s international Arthur Ross Awards for lifetime achievement.

Vivian holds a leadership role at the firm and is a pivotal asset within the creative team. She leads the team in every stage of design and implementation, with a focus on refining processes for excellence and efficiency. Vivian’s ability to synthesize multifaceted complexities of a project, in addition to her mastery of technical and artistic design skills, furthers successful project installations. Her impressive body of work has led to numerous design excellence awards, publications, and affiliations.
Vivian graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University and earned her Master’s degree in Interior Architecture + Design from Drexel University where she won the “Thesis Faculty” Award for design innovation. A former adjunct professor at Drexel University, she has taught various graduate and undergraduate level courses including rendering, orthographic drawing, 3ds Max and AutoCAD. With a passion for continuing education and staying at the forefront of design, Vivian frequently attends architecture courses at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art and is involved in community pro-bono design projects.0
Kali’s rigorous work ethic and keen communication skills make her invaluable to the EDC team and the projects she manages. She is skilled in each phase of project development from budgets and presentations to technical drawings, through to final installation.
In addition to ensuring projects are completed to the firm’s exacting standards, Kali takes a leadership role in the creation of social media content. Under Kali’s direction, the large body of work produced by EDC has a vibrant online presence.
Kali graduated with honors in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. She has won awards and honorable mentions in various design competitions and sits in a guest judge for student design competitions and presentations. Constantly furthering her education, she regularly attends ICAA events and industry lectures.0
Mary brings extensive experience leading complex commercial and residential projects, establishing herself as an invaluable member of the Eberlein Design team. As a founding Partner at an architecture firm, she has a unique understanding of the intersection between architecture and design. Whether the space is contemporary or historic, Mary translates creative concepts into enduring and expressive spaces. Her keen focus on exceptional furnishings composition and project implementation make her a vital asset to the team’s design process.
Mary studied Interior Design at Drexel University and The Art Institute of Philadelphia. When not at the office, Mary serves as the Chair of the Design Review Committee for Tenth Church and as a board member at The City School.0

Charged with the hiring and training staff, organizing marketing activities, serving as the IT expert, coordinating all pro-bono commitments and managing client accounts, Fred is the critical link between the aesthetic production and the practical execution of the firm’s work, ensuring the professional delivery of our creative services.
Fred graduated from LaSalle University with a combined degree in English and Management and actively pursues training in new programs and technologies that advance the production of our work.0
With an extensive background in planning, purchasing, and project management, Kima brings essential technical skills to Eberlein Design Consultants for efficient design implementation. Her keen operational approach, attention to detail, and innovative nature combined with her expertise in project accounting and budgeting enable her to implement procedures to execute project efficiency. Kima continually researches and pursues new systems to ensure EDC processes are streamlined and remain on the cutting edge of technology.
Kima has a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Management from Philadelphia University. In her spare time, Kima searches for exquisite antique furniture and treasures deserving of attention and gives them a new life.0

Anne graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts. She has been published in multiple national publications and actively pursues innovative and creative ways to highlight the firm’s expansive body of work.0
Cameron is currently a third year student at Drexel University studying Interior Architecture and Art History. With a passion for residential design and environmental psychology, Cameron is fascinated by the interaction between people and the spaces in which they live and work.. Susan brings a wealth of experience to our firm having worked for many years supporting design and architecture project management teams. She organizes complex specifications manuals and coordinates project documents to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy. Susan works with the design team to ensure code compliance and technical applicability of the materials we utilize in our work. Supporting the design team throughout the process from concept to execution, Susan effectively integrates aesthetics and production. Additionally, Susan curates our extensive resource library and is constantly researching new products and processes.
Susan was educated at Moore College of Art and at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. As a prolific practicing artist, she continues to generate unique art work in a variety of media and enjoys great commercial success.0
